Mere View, built in 1820, has been renovated throughout to the highest standard with tasteful decoration, super furnishings and a state of the art kitchen and bathroom. Just sit on the garden bench, enjoying the wildlife on the village mere and the views of the wonderful Peak District, and realise this is somewhere very special!

A cosy lounge with comfortable cottage-style furniture, TV, DVD and views across to the village mere. An attractive little dining room with bistro-style furniture. A well-equipped kitchen with quality fitted units, hob, oven, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and automatic washer/dryer. A lovely double bedroom looking over the mere to the hills beyond. A superb en-suite bathroom with bath/power shower over and W.C.
Linen and towels are provided. Central heating and power are included.(£15 p.w.charged extra Oct-Mar).There is a sunny front garden with furniture. Parking is available right outside the cottage. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult.

As you drive over from Bakewell the view of the village is one of the most wonderful in Derbyshire. Set in a fold of Peak District hills there are walks galore through incredible scenery. Our favourites are along the country lanes for a pint in the Cock and Pullit in Sheldon or the Bull-in-Thorn in nearby Flagg. But there is also good beer, great food and a very warm welcome in the Bulls Head, just a stroll from the cottage.
If Bakewell is just a few minutes drive away then so is the multitude of other holiday attractions. How about pedaling along the High Peak Trail or visiting Hartington's famous cheese shop to taste the 'Buxton Blue'. Chatsworth House, Castleton's Caverns and Haddon Hall, the setting for the T.V. production of Jane Eyre, are just a few examples of other great places to visit.
